WALLS

WALLS
Between Structure and Decay
ink and pencil on paper
In this work, i want show the contrast between control and chaos. Clear architectural shapes, like buildings or ruins, are slowly taken over by flowing ink, which looks like smoke, mushrooms, or like afading memory. The straight lines give a feeling of order, but they are partly disappearing, as if time or nature is taking over.
I choose to use strong contrasts: light and dark, sharp and soft, planned and unexpected. The result is a mysterious space that feels both real and dreamlike – a place to think about change, time, and the beauty of things that are not perfect.
Through the use of ink and pencil, I capture the fragile nature of the spaces we inhabit. The delicate texture of the pencil stands in stark contrast to the dense, impenetrable black ink that forms the foundation of the walls—walls behind which life unfolds. From the outside, these walls appear closed, concealing whatever happens within. But from the inside, they must provide not only protection but also a sense of comfort and reassurance.
